Our client in Maidenhead contacted SJM Kitchens to replace a kitchen that had become dated and was beginning to fall apart. Their aim was to create a modern and practical kitchen that would stand up to daily use while delivering a clean, contemporary look.
From the survey stage, the focus was on functionality, durability, and a design that suited the character of their home.
The existing kitchen was no longer fit for purpose and required a full renovation. It was important to the homeowners that the new kitchen was installed efficiently, with all issues resolved properly rather than hidden or rushed.
As the property dated back to the 1950s, the renovation needed an experienced installer who could confidently manage older building quirks.
The project included full kitchen installation, new flooring, electrical work, and gas work. The finished kitchen features the Lugano vinyl wrap range, complemented by a mix of timber and stone worktops, modern appliances, tiled flooring, and a stylish splashback.
The renovation involved coordination with multiple trades, including an electrician, plumber, and flooring specialist. During installation, an issue was identified with unusual pipework and an existing gas pipe that had been isolated beneath the screed.
This was safely amended as part of the works, ensuring the kitchen met all practical and safety requirements without impacting the final design.
